Dark blue bodied brown headed birds in Minnesota?

I took a picture of a bird that has a dark blue body, and a brown head in Minnesota.What type of bird could it be?


I'm not an expert but I've seen Cow Birds that have black or dark blue bodies and brown heads. Google Cow Bird to find a picture of one to see if that's what you are seeing.

Chance: Soaking up the sun -- fleeting as it may be

It's weather like this that fools even the most native Coloradan such as myself. I know -- like I know that brown spot on my forehead isn't going away -- that just because it's beautiful outside, doesn't mean it's spring. And I know -- just like I know the cat is going to vomit in my shoe while I'm sleeping tonight -- that we could have a massive blizzard at any given time up until June first or so.

But it's nice, isn't it, to put your house plants outside, to open a couple windows, and to put on a pair of flip flops, even if it's only for six or eight hours. Sure, some of you wear your flip flops all year long (and you know who you are), or you sport your beloved cargo shorts while you're scraping two inches of ice off of your Xterra windshield, but I'm not talking to you.
