Memphis gardeners host public garden tours
There are a few Master Gardeners who garden for a living, but most simply live for gardening. On Saturday, May 21, Memphis Area Master Gardeners host the 2nd Annual “Through Our Garden Gates” garden tour. From urban to acreage, from city to country, seven of the most creative gardens in Shelby County will be open to the public from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Garden guides will be on-site at each garden to answer visitors’ questions and provide plant lists. Each garden features a presentation by a gardening professional, and one site will offer the “Ask a Master Gardener” plant clinic throughout the day.
Visitors can purchase admission tickets and begin their tour at any of the gardens from Memphis to Eads. Admission is $10 ($5 for certified Master Gardeners wearing an MG badge) and covers all seven gardens. A tour map is available at www.memphisareamastergardeners.org .
