What would suit me as far as "exotic" pets go?

What I mean by exotic isn't like a Tiger or something illegal (well, at least tigers are illegal in this country) but something that really isn't your everyday *deep breath*
Cat (most "Exotic Cats" are hard to look after so its not fair

Okay so axolotls are amazing. Such cute creatures.
Ferrets are sweet and easy to care for, needs tons of time out of their cage though and are expensive to buy and keep.
Chinchillas aren't very friendly, chew a tooon.. But are very cute.

Latta Preserve has onsite attractions as well as over 13 miles of hiking and horse trails, two canoe access points, waterfront views, fishing and secret streams.  Biking is a great option to get from site to site.  When you first enter the park, I suggest you stop at the Nature Center for a map and an interactive jumpstart to your day.
