Briefs: Sutter County museum hosting children's program

A program about hummingbirds, with a story and crafts, is the topic of the Spring Vacation Children's Program at the Community Memorial Museum of Sutter County.
For elementary-school age children, the free event starts at 10 a.m. April 12 at 1333 Butte House Road, Yuba City.
Participants will hear a story about hummingbirds in backyards and make their own book about the birds and other crafts. Refreshments follow.

The museum is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Friday and noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

Artist reception planned Thursday
Fused glass art by Paul Boehmke is featured this month at The Theater Gallery, 752 Plumas St., Yuba City.
A reception for the artist and his exhibit, "Time and Place-Paintings in Glass," is from 4:30 to 4 p.m. Thursday at the gallery.
The event also features the Yuba City High School swing set jazz band with vocalist Mickey Layson.
