Swarms Of Birds?

I saw in the paper last week (UK Paper) a small collection of pictures where swarms of birds (poss. swallows) were flying in a group.
In this group there must have been thousands flying.
These birds looked so majestic and if you looked


If they were the same pictures I saw they were starlings - the collective noun is a "murmuration", though "flock" is used more often.
