Siberian Jay (Perisoreus infaustus)

This "shadow of the wanderer" breeds fairly commonly
in Kuusamo, usually in old coniferious forests. Silent
and descrete during the breeding season, but easier to
find once the young are out of the nest. In autumn the
Siberian Jays move around some. Strong populations at
eg Oulanka (17) and Valtavaara - Konttainen (2).
